Making play dough is always a favourite for our nanny families- the kids just love it and the benefits are endless! Mixing, measuring, weighing - maths! Sensory - smell, feel, taste (yes they most definately always taste!). Kneading, manipulating, squishing, squashing, playing - imagination, fine motor skills - strengthening and control. Imagination and creativity through themed play or open ended play.
Our Ginger Bread Man Play Dough
Easy to make the little ones love to get involved!
Mix all the dry ingredients together - for our natural colouring we used ground ginger and a little sprinkle of tumeric. (This made a perfectly ginger smelling and looking dough!)
Next add the oil into the warm water and mix slowly into the dry mixture using a wooden spoon to mix it all together!
keep mixing - add more flour if needed
Then you are ready to play!
Run, Run as fast as you can! You can’t catch me I am the GINGER BREAD MAN!
